Laurel Mountain is a school for talent development where we are working together to develop the whole child. I am honored to be the principal at an amazing and innovative school in the outstanding Round Rock Independent School District.
I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy, later adding a certification to teach elementary school, and a Master’s Degree from Texas State University in Mid-Management. I am so fortunate, not only for my education and professional experiences, but also for a wonderful husband, Gene, two daughters, two son-in-laws, and four beautiful grandchildren.
I am proud to have been a part of the Laurel Mountain community as a special education teacher, 1st grade teacher, assistant principal, and now beginning my 15th year as the principal. I love seeing our children grow and develop into amazing young people with such diverse gifts and talents. I am committed to creating school experiences that provide opportunities for your child to reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Using the philosophy of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, your child’s educational experience will be enhanced well beyond the elementary years. When your child identifies their interests and talents they develop a positive self-esteem and a joy of learning which is a path to becoming a life-long learner.
I believe that working in partnership with our creative children, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents, Laurel Mountain is a school for both learning and talent development. What could be more important than to develop the talents of our children? Together we are creating a school experience that views present knowledge as a stepping stone to the creation of new knowledge and skills; solutions of unsolved problems; and, inventions, artistic productions, and explorations that improve our world.
Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Laurel Mountain Elementary community. We have opportunities for everyone to be involved in continuing our history of excellence. I hope that you will visit the LME Website and the LME PTA website to learn more about how you can be involved in the excitement of creating an exceptional learning experience for our children.
